Balu Brigada

Balu Brigada, hailing from Auckland, New Zealand have arrived on the scene with a unique sound that pulls from a mix of cultural conversations within the music landscape -  the result being a sound that is uniquely Balu Brigada. Brothers Henry and Pierre Beasley have played together from an early age growing up in an environment that challenged the musical norms – as a duo, the multi-instrumentalist, dual vocalist, co-writers and co-producers have found themselves thrust onto global discovery. Pop sensibilities that sit just a little left of center mixed with inspiration from the indie pop and alternative rock scene blend with prominent bass hooks, punchy drums, and just enough quirk to define a sound that can only belong to Balu Brigada.

Early years spent fine-tuning their skills paid off in 2022 as they got the attention of Atlantic Records/Warner Music Australia and signed their first major label deal. A series of releases with their debut EP 'I Should Be Home’ was quickly followed by EP number two ‘Find A Way’, landing them over 1M monthly listeners on Spotify, and now, their most recent single “So Cold” has received a total of 5.6M+ streams to date and continues to reach new heights daily (including an inclusion in the forthcoming FIFA 2025 soundtrack, and being SiriusXM Alt Nation’s Critical Cut for September 2024). The band has also received acclaim from Rolling Stone, Coup De Main, People Magazine (Best New Artist), Ones to Watch and hailed by i-D as “an actual band of brothers making tunes stacked with hooks that’ll run circles around your brain for days.” 2024 opened new doors when the brothers got the attention of Twenty One Pilots. Being a fan of their music, they hand-picked Balu Brigada to open for their North American Arena Tour, expressing this would be a massive discovery moment for the band and Twenty One Pilots fans.
