Lisa Gerrard and Irish composer Jules Maxwell announce a short European tour in early 2025 to promote their album BURN.

Gerrard and Maxwell first worked together in 2012 on the Dead Can Dance Anastasis world tour and have subsequently written songs for Joachim Witt and Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares.

The album BURN was created over the course of 5 years with English producer James Chapman (MAPS) and released in 2021.

This series of concerts offers a rare opportunity to hear the BURN album live.

Previously Gerrard and Maxwell have performed the show on only 8 occasions; a seven-date tour of Portugal in 2022 and a sellout performance in Łódź, Poland July 2023.

A live album entitled “ONE NIGHT IN PORTO”, recorded during one of the Portuguese performances, was released on Atlantic Curve in June 2023.

The BURN show is a sonically huge and visually stunning experience. It consists of the seven pieces from the album, accompanied by seven specially commissioned films. Jules Maxwell will perform his ambient album CYCLES by way of an opening set.

Two of the films for BURN were directed by the Polish filmmakers Jacob Chelkowski and Michal Sosna. The other five were created by English animator David Daniels who has previously worked with Led Zeppelin, The Blue Nile, and Bryan Adams.

Lisa Gerrard is a founding member of the Australian band DEAD CAN DANCE. She received a Golden Globe for co-writing the soundtrack to Ridley Scott’s movie GLADIATOR. She has collaborated with Hans Zimmer on numerous other soundtracks, most recently DUNE. She has also composed the soundtracks to WHALE RIDER, THE INSIDER, and ALI.

Jules Maxwell is an Irish composer whose work has been performed at the National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe in London. His debut full-length opera The Lost Thing was presented at the Royal Opera House, in London in 2019. He has collaborated with many singers including Foy Vance, Melanie Pappenheim, and most recently the Portuguese fado singer Lina_.
